Ibec is seeking a professional to support its networks and work closely with the Head of Digital Economy Policy to deliver its digital, cyber, and AI agenda. Key to this effort are Ibec’s Digital and AI Affairs Committee and Cyber Taskforce, which bring together key stakeholders to shape national and EU policy, advise Government, and strengthen Ireland's position as a resilient digital economy. 

The role involves guiding Ibec members through the digital transition by promoting trust, awareness, and capacity building to enable further adoption and innovation with digital and AI tools across Irish enterprise.

ABOUT THE ROLE

 1. Work Programme Development  
  • Develop and implement work programmes with the guidance of the Head of Digital Economy Policy, the Committee and the Cyber Taskforce to: 
    • Deliver agreed objectives, supporting Ibec members and overarching Ibec (Organisational) strategic objectives and/or initiatives, in line with agreed budgetary requirements. 
    • Work collaboratively across the Ibec organisation/networks on Committee and Organisational initiatives as appropriate. 
2. Service/Work Programme Delivery  
  • Work collaboratively and contribute to: 
    • Build, maintain, and extend effective relationships with internal customers (the Committee, sectors, and members) and external international and national digital policy stakeholders and influencers. 
    • Coordinate the Committee and its working groups, enable and deliver effective meetings, events, and engagement for Ibec and members on digital, cyber and AI affairs. 
    • Analyse, drive, and respond to developments in designated areas such as policy, legislation, regulation, standards, and best practice. 
    • Provide insights and information to members on developments in designated areas and respond to members’ queries. 
    • Develop and deliver business perspectives on designated areas by engaging and coordinating members’ inputs. 
    • Manage online content and social media engagement. 
    • Identify opportunities to raise the profile and reputation of Ibec, the Committee and its working groups. 
3. Governance and Financial Management  
  • Contribute, with the Head of Digital Economy Policy, to: 
    • Articulate and communicate our value proposition to members. 
    • Support Key Account Management (KAM) processes for Ibec sectors/members. 
    • Oversee governance of the work programme. 
NOTE: This list is not exhaustive but serves to reflect the nature of the duties included in the role.  Given the nature of the organisation and the need to respond to members’ needs on an ongoing basis, the role is subject to change over time.  Sector assignment may be subject to change.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications  
  • Hold a primary degree in a relevant discipline; additional relevant postgraduate/professional qualifications would be an advantage.  
Knowledge, experience, and skills  
  • Possess a good knowledge of digitalised sectors, digital policy and regulations and a clear understanding and insight into the issues driving the debate. 
  • Circa 3 years relevant experience. 
  • Excellent communication, writing, networking, and IT skills.  
  • Lobbying/advocacy experience would be an advantage.
